War Paint

Here you can see that I've started layering color. For a while it looks like a paint-by-number. (Actually, it probably looks a little more like war paint.) But it helps me to focus on the shape of that particular color.

All colors are made from the three primary colors - red, yellow, and blue. For the most part I mix all my colors from the three primaries. If my colors are correct, then the only other thing that can go wrong is the shape. It gets a little difficult when the shape consists of hard and soft lines and blends of color.

So, paint-by-number color shapes, then blending, and then more paint-by-numbers.
