Gone But Not Forgotten

I can't believe it's been over a month since I've blogged. SO bad!

I have been Very busy with some Exciting new projects!

In addition to traveling across the nation I've started a new painting, which you can see below; I am now part of an online gallery, which you can view from the link at the top right; and I was accepted into the Southern Utah Art Invitational.

Because so much is going on I chose a less ambitious painting. This is a grain mill we saw on our road trip to Oregon. I hope it will be a good relaxation piece for me to work on this summer.

I am thrilled to finally have an online venue for my art. I still want to work towards a personal website, but I think that being part of a gallery will help me find a wider audience. So PLEASE pass along the news and let friends and family know about the site!

This year the Southern Utah Art Invitational is allowing buyers to purchase art and take it home on the spot. This means that for every piece we sell, we have to have work to replace it. Because it takes me several months to complete a painting, I decided to go out on a limb and sale some of my photographs. It was hard to choose which ones to offer, and then to take the risk of getting them professionally printed and framed.

So much has happened all at once, it's been quite overwhelming. When I paint I put major parts of my soul on canvas, and to open myself up in such a way for the world to see and judge is very daunting.

So, ready or not, the show opens this week and my art is online. Now it's just a matter of sitting back and waiting to see what happens.

Wish me luck!
