Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

All good things must come to an end. While our trip is not over, this was the last day of our ocean view. There were many things I wanted to see on this trip, and there simply wasn't enough time to see them all. But my final wish was to find a tide pool with sea stars. I have always been fascinated by them and while I've seen them in aquariums, I so wanted to see one in it's natural habitat.

The first place we stopped had no tide pools at all. But it Did have a lighthouse. SO amazing.

The second stop had a tide pool, but no sea stars.

Our last stop... please, oh, please, let there be sea stars...

And Oh MY did I find the mother lode. First I saw a cluster of them and was grateful, but they were all jumbled up and didn't look like they were supposed to. Then I found a few more, still not just right, and then suddenly everywhere I looked, there they were. I was soaked by the time I dragged myself away. The wind was blowing the fog was low and I was barefoot and freezing. But I was in heaven.

Enjoy our last hurrah...
