The new year is already two weeks old and well on its way. Spring has always felt me like the time to celebrate a new year, but I'll take any opportunity to celebrate!
And by the lack of postings you can probably guess that I've been doing more celebrating that working :}
I thoroughly enjoyed the holidays with all of my family and even a few friends. I put work aside allowed myself to rejuvenate and regenerate. And now I'm ready to be back!
I find it interesting that so many people (myself included) wait for an event like a new year to recommit to self-improvement - like diet, exercise, and health. But, I find it is a continuous cycle for the human creature. For some reason, while we are creatures of habit, we are not necessarily creatures of good habits. The good habits, for me at least, need a lot of tending and attention while the bad habits sneak in and take over without any effort whatsoever.
So, the cycles repeat: a new year, new resolutions, new acquaintances, and new projects: the new year will pass and another will come; resolutions will most likely be broken (hopefully later than sooner); some acquaintances will turn to friendships and some friendships will fade; and new projects will be finished while others will be abandoned; and then the cycle will repeat.
Circles are similar to cycles. Some circles start as cycles. The thing about circles is that you can go a long time before you realize that you are actually in one. For the most part, I find that circles are pretty good things. They are very difficult to break and most often go on forever. Circles tend to be found in relationships. Not all circles or relationships are healthy ones. But generally if they aren't we can realign them or if necessary break the circle and get out. But for all the healthy ones, there is safety and security in knowing they will never end.
So, my first post of the year is dedicated to all my circles that keep me going and keep going.
