Draped in Crimson and Gold

I talked in previous posts about the colors of crimson and gold and their symbolic meanings as well as their connections to royalty. The King's robe is one more reference to these colors and their associated symbolism.

I really enjoyed painting the robe. I would get so lost in trying to keep the pattern where it was supposed to be. I would suddenly find myself painting below where I was supposed to be, or painting yellow when I was supposed to be painting red. At the same time however, every time I stood back and looked at it, there was fabric on the canvas.

I really buckled down and stayed at it. It was a VERY long day of painting. But I was determined to finish the robe. I did it! Yeah!
