I love summer thunderstorms. The clouds before and after are breathtaking. In this desert mountain region the rain seers through the dry air rejuvenating every living thing. In the heat of the summer steam rolls off the pavement when the rains hit. We often have flash floods which, while sometimes causing damage, are incredible to watch and sometimes even stand in. Then the rains are gone and the sun beams through the clouds promising light after the darkness.
As I sit here the rains are coming. I watch the sheet, blanketing the sky, as it moves slowly toward me. Soon it will be here. Soon it will envelop me. Soon I will be rejuvenated too.
"I get my best ideas in a thunderstorm. I have the power and majesty of nature on my side."
~Ralph Steadman
