In Perfect Balance

Well, after delving into the dark side, I thought I could come straight out into the light. But that's not how life works. It is the contrast, the opposition, the yin and the yang that make up the balance of life. And so it went. I added some light, then reinforced the darks, put in a few medium tones, then redefined the darks; tipped off the lightest whites, then balanced it all out with a blending of the golden sunlight. The constant search for balance - such is the essence of my life.

I think it's pretty obvious which flower I worked on today. Two more flowers to go, then bring the two panels together and make sure the colors, values, and details wed well, and then just the finishing touches. Ah... sounds so simple. Simple is seldom easy. But here we go...

Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
